Paintball this weekend - The Ranch - December 1, 2012

We are playing this Saturday, December 1st at The Ranch.  The weather will be sunny with a high of 76 - are you kidding me?   Plan on rendezvousing at the old HEB around 9:15am or at the gate by 9:30am and we'll stage at the location.   If you need specific directions, contact me off-line.

Primary scenario:  SEARCH AND FREAKIN' DESTROY

Since we'll be on "big land" we''ll have plenty of space for the old search and destroy scenario.   Plus we'll do some ambush/counter-ambush and general brush fighting action.

Special requirements:  We will start in one location, but likely move out and move around, so plan on carrying extra pods and your sustainment gear.  If you have radios (FRS), this is a great scenario to use them .  We'll have the team radios out there as well.

If you plan on being or bringing out someone as a guest this weekend, please let me know in advance, so that we can have some gear put aside for them. Thanks to the marker work day, we have a few guest set-ups that are ready to go.  Bring a ruck and what you need to sustain while playing (water, camelback, etc.).

Please note, if you need directions they are posted in the forums, under the "Orion Raiders Paintball" section.  There will also be a games discussion for this weekend listed there as well.

Please RSVP for this game by:

1) Responding via email to this message
2) Accepting the event via the Facebook event page

If you are unable to attend this game, our next game will be Saturday, February 9, 2013.

Look forward to seeing everyone there!

Paintball this weekend - Orion Valley - October 13, 2012

We are playing this Saturday, October 13th at Orion Valley.  I know we'd originally talked about the Ranch, but since we still have access to Orion Valley for the time being, I thought we should run this one there.  The weather will be sunny with a high of 86. Be at the field and ready to go by 9:30am.

Primary scenarioINFILTRATOR!!!

That's right - the third exclamation point means it's extra awesome.  It's been awhile since we've been out in the field, so let's burn some paintballs and get into action.

Special requirements:  Lots of paint.  Paintball grenades, as applicable.

If you plan on being or bringing out someone as a guest this weekend, please let me know in advance, so that we can have some gear put aside for them. At this point, we have 3-4 guest markers, so there is some kit available.

Bring a ruck and what you need to sustain while playing (water, camelback, etc.), so you don't have to climb up and down the death hill to get your goods.

If you are unable to attend this weekend, our next game will be Saturday, December 1st.

Look forward to seeing everyone there!

Paintball this weekend - THP Quarry - May 19, 2012

We are playing this Saturday, May 19th at The Human Path Quarry. This will be a late afternoon/evening game, as we will be play OPFOR for Sam's Combat Medic Test. It should be sunny in the high 80s. If you don't know how to get to the THP location, plan on rendezvousing at my place at 4:00pm. We can load-up, brief and caravan to the location.

Primary scenario: OPFOR
We will be running force on force drills against the THP Combat Medic candidates. Sam will brief us on the scenarios and plan when we arrive at the Quarry location. We will be able to stage with the vehicles and then will be patrolling from staging.

Special requirements: Bring your standard kit with an emphasis on movement. If you need an LBE/LBV, please let me know in advance. Bring a ruck and what you need to sustain while playing (water, camelback, etc.). If you have airsoft equipment, please bring that out as well.

Due to the nature of this scenario, this will be a no guests game.

Please note, if you need directions they are posted in the forums, under the "Orion Raiders Paintball" section. There will also be a games discussion for this weekend listed there as well.

Look forward to seeing everyone there!

Paintball this weekend - Orion Valley - May 5, 2012

We are playing this Saturday, May 5th at Orion Valley.  The weather will be sunny with a high of 90, so let's get started early.  Be at the field and ready to go by 9:30am.

Primary scenario:  Pistols & Pumps

That's right . . . this weekend we'll be kicking it old school.

Special requirements:  This one will be all pumps or semi-auto pistols (clip-fed only, no hopper mods).  Bring out your Splatmasters, PGPs, paint bows, blowguns, spitwads, slingshots, or if you are Wes, your Carter Machine (sound of angels).

If you plan on being or bringing out someone as a guest this weekend, please let me know in advance, so that we can have some gear put aside for them. We have a very limited set of spare pumps (read: ONE), so let me know ASAP if you wanna come out and play.  Priority goes to the core group.  Bring a ruck and what you need to sustain while playing (water, camelback, etc.), so you don't have to climb up and down the death hill to get your goods.

Please note, if you need directions they are posted in the forums, under the "Orion Raiders Paintball" section.  There will also be a games discussion for this weekend listed there as well.

We'll probably have only one more game before we close shop for the summer, so keep an eye out for the updates.

Look forward to seeing everyone there!

Paintball this weekend - The Ranch - April 21, 2012

We are playing this Saturday, April 21st at The Ranch.  The weather will be sunny with a high of 82 - incredible.  Plan on rendezvousing at the gate by 9:30am and try to have your gear ready to go.

Primary scenario:  SNIPER/COUNTER SNIPER

Slow moving through the brush for sniper discovery and elimination.  The scenario will be focusing on some small-team brush clearing and sniper eradication.  You will be using your 3-man team to take out an opposing team of snipers who will be preventing you from reaching your extraction point.

Special requirements:  Well, ghillie suits obviously.  If not, burlap sacks, camo netting, or that ill-conceived bigfoot costume you used once for Halloween would all be appropriate.  Good time for your paintball sniper rifle (LOL).

If you plan on being or bringing out someone as a guest this weekend, please let me know in advance, so that we can have some gear put aside for them. Thanks to the marker work day, we have 5 guest set-ups that are ready to go.  Bring a ruck and what you need to sustain while playing (water, camelback, etc.).

Pay Yer Dues

The dues have been depleted getting all of the guest guns back into working order.  Next on the list is some more masks, followed by more mines.   The dues for the season are $25 or $40 for the year.   Please consider paying these via Paypal, or bring cash out to the game.

Paintball this weekend - The Ranch - March 17, 2012

We are playing this Saturday, March 17th at The Ranch.  The weather will be cloudy with a high of 76, so the heat is coming.  Depending on when the new Little Dude decides to show-up, Wes may be running this game.  Plan on rendezvousing at the gate by 9:30am.

Primary scenario:  SEARCH AND DESTROY

Since we'll be on "big land" we''ll have plenty of space for the old search and destroy scenario.   Plus we'll do some ambush/counter-ambush and general brush fighting action.

Special requirements:  We will start in one location, but likely move out and move around, so plan on carrying extra pods and your sustainment gear.  If you have radios (FRS), this is a great scenario to use them .  We'll have the team radios out there as well.
